Horse shit and mud is great for the skin. I had been patch repairing my trekking sandals from Nepal, but they lasted about five meters in this muck and were non-repairable. I had to spend the rest of the time walking around like those bare foot freaks.

There are no captions to tell where this is but is that bridge the one at the Panama/Costa Rica border crossing up near Bocas? If so, it doesn’t look any different than when I passed through there 12 years ago.
