On to the Zim

Vic falls (5).JPG

So after doing some day trekking (game walking) and animal viewing via a boat, we were on our way to Zimbabwe. The border was only a few kilometers away from our boat spot, so we decided to make the run the same day. This took us to the major tourist destination of Vic Falls. Victoria Falls is known for its huge waterfalls as well as the hub for many adrenaline type activities. White water rafting, parasailing, micro-planes, rappeling, bungee jumping, blah, blah, blah. We spent a couple of days there relaxing and visiting the falls. They had a similar set up like in Argentina/Brazil where you could cross a bridge and see it from Zambia. I didn’t want to waste the spot in my passport nor pay another $20US to see it from the other side.

They were nice, but I have seen the tallest, the widest, the loudest, the most volumnous, etc. so not majorly heart pounding. I would say it ranks number two compared to Angel Falls.

Oh yea, if you ever go to Vic Falls, besides the falls the only real other tourist attraction is the “Big Tree.” Here’s a photo in case you won’t ever go to Zimbabwe. Really, check the guide book. It is the second recommended tourist option in the city.
