Lost while looking for paradise.

I finally made it to Puntarenas the ferry port over to the Nicola Peninsula. Itself was a local tourist hotspot for the San Jose crowd. I got a cheap room, another cell, but this one had cable tv so I stayed a couple of days. It was a nice mix of fishing port, local touristy, and later on a cruise ship port of call. I hadn´t seen a cruise ship since leaving the Virgin Islands. Man, there must be some sort of cruise ship dress code for the tourists because they really stood out.

Pretty sunset. Haven´t seen one of those before.

This was the local catch off the pier right at sunset. It did hurt a bit when I started kicking my ass right there on the pier for giving away my light tackle spinning gear. I do know what would have happened though. I would have started fishing, met up with some local fisherman, gone out on a boat, broke my light tackle equipment, bought some heavy duty boat rigs, caught a few big ones, and then got stuck with a bunch of useless heavy duty rigs for the rest of the trip.

I remember using these blood worms for bait when I was kid catching perch off the docks. I guess pretty much the same thing.
