Day 379 Rio, Brasil: Cristo Redentor.

It was time to do some touristy stuff beyond the beach, so I chose the famous Christ the Redeemer statue that overlooks the city. I forget the Brazilian name, but it was something like the Corcovado.
The route started with another public bus (I am becoming a pro at those things.) The bus dropped me off at the base of the 710M peak. There, touts loomed around grabbing tourists and giving them the run through on tours. Supposedly there is a train that you could go on that chugs its way up to the top. As soon as I got off the bus, there was some guy buzzing away at me in Portuguese. I countered with Spanish and we ended up just spouting off random stuff and pointing at pictures. Finally, he just pointed at a group of people and said to go with them. Now, usually I don’t like to just jump in a tour group because they usually are paying exhorbinant prices, but since the girl in the group was amazing looking, I caved.
