Africa internet sucks

I don’t know if my last entry took, but I wrote down where I have been so far. I wanted to upload some photos as well, but it ain’t going to happen. Maybe when I get to a bigger town.

Steve

At the minimum, I am in Swakopmund, Namibia getting ready to visit Etosha National Park to do some game viewing.

    Hey Steve,
Wow, what an amazing site. Wow.
It is Gil, from the youth hostel in SP, now I am in the area of the beaches between SP and Rio – beautiful, not too touristy in this time of year, great weather, enjoying.
Keep enjoying man, it was really great meeting you.
Tell me if you plan to come to Israel.
Now you also have my email.

Joe, Cic, Robert- Thanks for the notes. It was actually good to have something that kept me grounded as I traveled. Doesn’t hurt that some people might enjoy it as well. I will still be doing some updates from time to time, but at my leisure this time. My Mom really liked it as well.

    Thanks

    Brother-in-law (Michael)

How is it going? Still married? A better man than I am.

Africa will take as much money as you can throw at it. I am throwing small coins so its manageable. One month and slept in a bed for only three of those nights.

Traveling is a lot more fun than working. Come on over if you prefer to have fun. The Irish are the funnest to travel with “drink a lot, cuss a lot, make everybody laugh, go home, and drink some more.” The biggest football fanatics that I have met.

    Pablo,

Great to hear from you. I will send you a e-mail seperately. Hope your travels are going well. Say hello to your brother for me. If you talk to Natalia, tell her she owes me an e-mail (in English), or I want my book back.

Still looking to retire from traveling and heading back to Colombia.

Send me a group photo from the Falls trip and I will add it to the site. I don’t have any pics with you and your brother. I just have photos of Natalia (I wonder why?) Oh yea, because she’s pretty and you guys aren’t.

    Talk to you later.

    Sean and Amarens,

Glad you guys survived your trip as well. Actually, isn’t Seans trip over and your (Amarens) trip just starting again. It’s all going to be new living in Canada, just like traveling to South America. I think the moving to Canada was just to have a long holiday or possibly to get married(?).

I’ve been still reading up on your site so keep it up.

    Karen,

You are always invited to come and travel with me. I know the states and especially Florida is hard to pass up, but Africa is really nice. Not as easy as laying on the beach in Miami, but a lot more interesting stuff.

    Gil,

I am glad you e-mailed. I could use a few more weeks on the beaches in Brasil. It’s easier to travel here in Africa because English is the primary language, but I would give it all up for the Brasiliana’s.

I definitely want to go to Israel. I am thinking of heading through central Africa and then out via the Middle East so I can go through there. I will definitely e-mail you as I get closer. I have some other friends there as well that I would like to see. It sucks about the war going on, unfortuneately I only get to hear little bits and pieces of it as we pass through big towns. Even the internet is difficult to find. War or not, I think I will still make it there.

Good travels and good to hear from you. If you happen to pass through the hostel again, tell all of them the American/Japanese guy said that “Brasilian Soccer SUCKS. HA HA HA.” They gave me hell the whole time I was there. In fact, if you go through Salvador, tell all the guys at the beach the same thing.

    Travel safely.
