Day 323 Pucon, Chile: Truckee, Lake Tahoe

My first stop in the “Lakes” also happened to be the jewel of the area. Pucon is described as the adventure travel and tourist navel of the Lake District, with an outlandish casino and enough adrenaline activities to keep you pumped. The place was just like a miniature Lake Tahoe set right below a mountain range and a big ass, snow-capped, smoke puffing volcano. A hundred travel agencies and pretty much everybody renting rooms, it was highly touristic.

After my standard two nights in a capital city it was time to move on. Big cities are just not what I signed up for. For that it is comparitive to resort hopping. You can visit an all inclusive report in any beach location and you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between any of them. Big cities are just big cities. I think Quito’s old town might just be a little bit of an exception.
